The official guide for iPhone / iPad: import existing service details, set up rule-based routing, then test the connection. Shadowrocket is a one-time purchase on the App Store.
First distinguish servers, connection modes and configuration files before changing settings. They determine where to connect, how to handle requests and which rules route traffic.
Rule-based routing selects a policy according to conditions such as the request’s domain or address. On Home, check Global Routing: Config processes requests using the active configuration file, Proxy routes them through a proxy, and Direct connects without one. To route traffic by rules, select Config, then confirm the intended file is enabled under Config. Rules are evaluated from top to bottom; put more specific conditions first and use FINAL at the end for everything else. Keep a copy of the original file, change one thing at a time, and test against the same destination.

FINAL,PROXYOn Demand starts a connection when preset conditions are met. Set it up after confirming that a manual connection works. In Settings, review the On Demand options and check the conditions for the Wi-Fi and cellular networks you actually use. This controls when a connection starts; it does not replace server settings or routing rules. If the connection starts again after you turn it off, check these options before repeatedly deleting servers. For initial troubleshooting, connect manually to confirm the basic setup, then enable On Demand conditions one at a time and observe what happens when you switch networks.

Verify the manual connection first, then check the trigger conditions.Shadowrocket supports protocols including Shadowsocks, VMess, VLESS and Trojan. Available options may vary; check the Type list in the app. When entering details manually in Add Server, choose the Type that matches your existing server information, then check Host, Port and the relevant authentication fields. Some protocols also require transport and TLS settings, so do not infer the configuration from the port alone. After importing a URI, review the key fields to catch incomplete copies that could prevent a connection. Protocol names being the same does not mean their settings are interchangeable; enter each field according to the service information you already have.

Shadowsocks / VMess / VLESS / TrojanBefore importing, identify whether you have a subscription link, a single-server URI or a configuration file URL. A subscription usually provides a list of servers; a single-server URI describes one connection; a configuration file may include rules and DNS settings. Import existing details through the appropriate subscription option, Add Server, Scan QR Code or clipboard. Then return to Home, check the group and server fields, and select an entry to test. Updating a subscription refreshes its remote list; it cannot fix an expired link. Before importing again, check existing entries to avoid duplicates.
Existing details → Identify the format → Choose the matching import option

Adding a file to the list does not mean it is active: check which file is selected and keep a recoverable copy before editing. Server subscriptions and rule files are separate; updating one does not necessarily update the other. If you use iCloud sync, verify which items are actually synced and enabled on each device—a file appearing in the cloud does not mean the connection is ready. Keep files containing authentication details secure, and remove sensitive fields before sharing troubleshooting information.

Saving a file ≠ Selecting and enabling itConnectivity Test checks how the selected server performs. Interpret the result alongside real-world access; one test cannot confirm that every request will work. If connected but unable to access a site, check server status, Global Routing, DNS and rule matches in that order. Data can help you review traffic records, and Diagnostics in Settings can provide further clues; usage statistics are not the same as server-side billing records. During troubleshooting, use one fixed destination, change one setting at a time and note the difference. This helps preserve a clear basis for comparison.

The App Store is the only place to get Shadowrocket. Verify the developer, official app icon and app ID, then check the price and device compatibility shown for your storefront.
The purchase covers the client app. The US storefront reference price is $2.99; other storefronts show local currency. The purchase page displays the actual price.
Config mode handles requests according to the active file. PROXY, DIRECT and REJECT represent different actions, and rule order affects which one applies.
These steps assume you already have your own subscription or server details. Confirm a basic connection first, then add rules, automatic updates and on-demand conditions.
Start by identifying what you have. Enter an individual server’s details in Add Server, scan a QR code with Scan QR Code, or import an existing subscription through the matching option. Copy the full content without including surrounding webpage text. After importing, check the Home list and confirm the group, protocol and server name are as expected.
If you have a rule configuration URL, add it in Config as a configuration file rather than entering it as an individual server. Save URLs containing authentication details only on your own devices; do not include them in public troubleshooting posts.
On Home, select the server you want to use and check Global Routing. Config, Proxy and Direct correspond to configuration-based, proxy and direct modes. To route traffic by rules, select Config and confirm that the appropriate configuration file is enabled. Proxy and Direct can help with comparisons during troubleshooting, but changing modes will not fix incorrect authentication or transport settings.
Note the mode and file name before switching. To restore the previous setup, use your notes to return to its original state. Do not replace multiple files without first identifying the cause.
Turn on the connection switch at the top of Home. When connecting for the first time, the system may ask to add a VPN configuration. Check which app initiated the request, then follow the system prompt. Once the connection status changes, use Connectivity Test as a diagnostic aid and try opening the destination you need. An enabled switch shows the connection state; also confirm that DNS and rules behave as expected.
If the result is unexpected, check the device’s basic network first, then troubleshoot the server, mode, DNS and rules in that order. Keep the original settings and change one thing at a time; this makes the cause easier to identify than changing several options at once.
Open the App Store using your own purchase account. Check the App Store listing for system requirements and Universal Purchase availability, and confirm your device is compatible before buying.
Buy and install Shadowrocket from the App Store, then import your own service details after opening the app. Read the system’s VPN configuration prompt when connecting. In Home, check your server and Global Routing settings. If the store shows that the app is already purchased, confirm you are signed in with the original purchase account.
View the iPhone setup steps →Check your existing purchase using the same Apple ID, then get Shadowrocket from the App Store. Refer to the store listing for Universal Purchase availability. After restoring the app, check the server details, active configuration and permissions on this device. Installing the app does not automatically transfer all connection settings.

Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app. This is the official website and manual. Refer to the App Store product page for acquisition details and to the app’s current interface for configuration guidance.
932747118When searching for the app, do not rely on the name alone. Open the product page and verify the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited, compare the app icon with the official icon in this site’s header, then check for id932747118 in the product URL. All three details should match. A similar name does not mean it is the same app, and search ranking is no substitute for verification.
Even when you open the store from this site, review the product details shown there. Check the App Store listing for system compatibility, current price and purchase eligibility. App updates are also managed through the App Store; you can check automatic update settings on your device.
Whether the app appears in search results depends on your App Store account’s storefront region and the app’s availability there. Your device’s interface language and storefront region are separate settings. If you cannot find the app or cannot buy it from the product page, check the storefront shown for your account, device compatibility and purchase restrictions instead of repeatedly changing connection settings.
See the installation guide for specific verification steps. Changing your account region may involve conditions related to your balance, existing subscriptions and payment details; follow the prompts shown by the App Store. This site explains the purchase and access process but does not provide accounts.
The US storefront reference price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase. Other storefronts show local currency; the final price appears on the purchase confirmation page. After buying the client, you still need your own server details or subscription and should check that they are valid and that the protocol and authentication settings match. An app purchase record does not confirm that a server is available.
After changing or resetting a device, use the original purchase account to find Shadowrocket in App Store Purchases. Check the App Store listing for purchase eligibility on iPhone and iPad, compatibility with other devices and Family Sharing availability. If the page still shows a price, verify the account and purchase record before paying again.
Restoring the app and restoring its configuration are separate tasks. On a new device, check each server, selected file and On Demand condition from the original device. Even if you use iCloud sync, verify what was actually synced. After moving, test a manual connection before restoring automatic triggers.
A successful import only confirms that the content was read. Select a server in Home, check its settings and Global Routing, then turn on the connection. An expired subscription, unreachable server or incorrectly selected configuration file can all affect access. Follow the first-connection steps →
Not necessarily. Config handles requests according to the active configuration file; the result depends on rule order, matching conditions and policies. DIRECT, PROXY and REJECT do different things. Also check how FINAL is set up at the end. See the mode and connection checks →
One test cannot cover every destination. Pick one destination and check the basic network, server, DNS and matching rules separately. If needed, compare behavior across Global Routing modes. Change one thing at a time to preserve useful clues. See the connection troubleshooting order →
